The major differences between Freestyle Lite and Freestyle Freedom Lite glucometers are dimensions, font size of dispaly, and LED light. The Freestyle Lite meter is slightly smaller and a little more portable than the Freedom Lite meter. The Freestyle Lite has the illuminating LED light to assist in accurately obtaining a blood sample in the middle of the night without waking the entire household (the Freedom Lite does not have this feature). The symbols on the Freedom Lite dispaly are larger, which would be beneficial to visually impaired diabetics.
Both meters use the same Freestyle test strips, which require the smallest blood sample of any glucometer on the market. It means least discomfort obtaining a blood sample and ease of obtaining that sample. Less pain means greater compliance in checking blood sugar level when necessary to monitor blood sugar levels and better overall glycemic control.
The front of the FreeStyle Freedom Lite glucometer has a test port, LCD and two buttons. The button "M" sets modes. The "C" is used to mark a control solution test, scrolling and clock displaying. Testing process starts only when enough blood is applied. (The meter beeps).
FreeStyle Freedom Lite combines simplicity and accuracy in an easy-to-read, easy-to-hold
device. It's so small that easily fits into a purse or pocket. No coding required means one step
less during the test. The meter's memory stores up to 400 results with date, time, 7, 14 & 30 day
averages. The data can be downloaded to PC with CoPilot software installed.
